Renos Finally Underway :)

After 5 years we have finally started getting into the last parts of the house we originally wanted to fix up before we moved in. I decided that we would start in the room I spend the most time in - the laundry!! Unfortunately I forgot to take a before photo :( Basically there were horrid little brown flecky tile on the floor and it was painted blue and yellow. After a hard working weekend, I now have beautiful large white tiles on the floor and as skirting board and the room is painted a fresh and clean white. All that's left to do is sand back the window frames, doorways and cupboards and have them freshly painted white and grab some white tile paint for the splashback.

It seems everyone wanted to have a go at painting! It would have been silly to knock back kids actually asking to help so off they went with brushes and rollers - yes hubby went over it again as soon as their backs were turned. Hopefully I will be able to post a pic of the completed room soon :)

  6. I love seeing home renovations come together and have learned that when I budget for a reno - I have to build in at least 15% contingency because it never costs what we budget it will !!
    Have a great day !
