When I received an invitation for High Tea @ The Langham Hotel to celebrate Disney’s Beauty and the Beast before it heads into the Disney vault on July 31st, to say I was excited was an understatement. Jacob was a little excited too as it’s one of his favourite stories.
Now the day before the big event, I received an email that suggested the kids could dress up as their favourite character from Beauty and the Beast or a Disney Princess. Well, the Disney princess was not going to happen so Jacob and I had a look at all the characters and found one that he wanted to go as. Can I just say, I pointed out quite a few “easy for mum to do” options, and even after reminding him we were taking the train into the city, he was adamant about his choice. Hmmmmm, looked like mummy was going to get crafty……..
With costume made and under wraps, we headed off on our train ride.
Once we got up the stairs @ The Langham, Jacob got his costume on. So who did he pick??? Meet Wester from Belle's Magical World, the castle’s writer who is transformed into a dictionary. Not a bad likeness even if I say so myself :)
He did have to take the costume off so he could sit down and colour in, chat with some new friends and watch Beauty and the Beast.
Webster sat on the chair beside Jacob while he snacked from the wonderful selection of teeny tiny cakes, scones and sandwiches that were provided. For the record, itty, bitty chocolate éclairs are amazing!!
A huge thank you to Disney Australia for the High Tea invitation. Definitely a day we won’t forget quickly.
