The 2012 Catch Up

As promised, here’s my 2012 catch up. I have procrastinated over the last fortnight about what to include in my catch up but I need to finish 2012 so I can move on to 2013.  It’s sad that I didn’t have enough time to blog these events individually throughout 2012 and give them their own posts but I have learnt from this and won’t let it happen again :)

The Summit August 2012

In August a group of mums headed of to The Summit for one of their “More Than A Mum” weekends.  I have never laughed and cried so much in one weekend!  A whole weekend of letting go, trusting others, letting others in and importantly for me, believing in yourself. Here are a few happy snaps from the weekend.

I cried with pride and joy when the final siren went and Matthew had finally achieved his personal goal of winning a grand final. The look on his face says it all.

Secret Santa Gift Revealed!

I posted HERE about the beautifully wrapped Secret Santa present I received. Well, Christmas morning has arrived and here is is!!!

A collection of girlie goods - eye shadows, lippie, nail-polish (awesome purple colour!!), smelly soap and a purple compact mirror!

Last day of Kindergarten

Well, they do all grow up. My little man had his last day of Kindergarten today. He is very excited that after Christmas he will be going to school but he was also a little sad to be finishing kindergarten.

There must have been a lot of good boys and girls at kinder because Santa Claus dropped in for a visit.!!

Jacob loved his “Teatime in Space” book he received from Santa!

After Santa’s visit, they all sat down to a wonderful break up lunch using the placemats they had made.

Jacob thought it was great that Nana and Pa came to his concert and last day of Kindergarten.

Big brothers even turned up!!

Some “big” brother reverted back to their own kindergarten days.

Other big brothers pushed him on the swing in the yard.

Secret Santa….You Rock!!!!

I love participating in a Secret Santa. I love the quest of finding the perfect gift for someone. I love the surprise of receiving an anonymous gift. But, this year my AussieCompers Secret Santa has gone far and beyond!!

My postie knocked on the door earlier this morning and had a standard brown box for me - awesome I love getting anything in a box :) I brought it inside and saw the sender was my Secret Santa. Since we will be putting up our tree next weekend, I decided to open the box so I could pop whatever was inside under the tree.

Well, I opened the box and this was what I found!

Isn’t it pretty!!! Just so thoughtful and festive!! And being the big girl that I am, I did the little “ooohhhh” squeal and promptly started tearing up. (Yup, I’m a BIG sook) I took the gifts out of the box and each one is beautifully wrapped, featuring my favourite colour purple :)

I can’t wait to put them under the tree!! Only 29 days until I can show you what’s inside :)

TISSUES!!!!

This was definitely one of those moments that I will kick myself for not having the video camera on.
Nanna M needed to wrap one of Jacob's presents is something a little sturdy. I don't think this was the response she had counted on.

He was happy enough opening up his present until he found something familiar looking inside the paper that confused him.

He studied it for a brief second then picked it up and exclaimed quiet disgustedly, "TISSUES! TISSUES!" Then held up the box and shook it menacingly and asked, "What IS this!"

By this stage we we're all in fits of laughter and no one could really answer him! He held it up and again and pouted at it, wondering what on earth he was missing.

Eventually, we all calmed down enough for someone to explain he needed to open his tissue box to reveal his present. Thankfully, there weren't tissues inside!
