Review & Giveaway! Dymo LetraTag Labelmaker

I love trying any product that helps keep things organised and while I do have a labeller, it’s pretty ancient and definitely not as cool as this one :( So, I was very happy to test out the Dymo LetraTag Labelmaker.

So, what to label first…. I remembered that my “kid files” had written tags on them so I thought I would test out the Dymo LetraTag to see if the labels would fit inside the suspension file tags. Big ol’ happy dance, because they do!!!

Here are my “kid files” before:

And here they after they have had a mini-makeover with Dymo.  Very, very spiffy huh :)

Then Jacob got in on the act and decided that we needed to label his “special pen”. It was really easy to roll the label around the pen so it was easy to read. You know that I am going to be spending the school holidays labelling everyone of his pens with him now :)

And since Jacob was so impressed with the little crocodiles that the Dymo LetraTag could print out we labelled him as well – just in case I forgot who he was.

The Dymo LetraTag Labelmaker is really simple to use and the labels are available in paper, plastic, metallic and iron-on.

There are a couple of really nifty features:

  • two line printing
  • has 195 symbols!
  • 6 font styles
  • date stamping
  • manual cutter
  • 9 label memory - nothing worse than needing to type in the same thing over & over again!
  • auto power off

Now of course you want to know where you can buy a Dymo LetraTag Labelmaker so head HERE for a list of stores. If you’d like a chance to win a family escape to Hawaii worth $20,000 or one of 50 x $100 vouchers head into Officeworks! All you have to is purchase a Dymo (or Sharpie, or Papermate product) from any participating Officeworks store and enter online. (Offer starts 15 May - 15 July). For more info check out Dymo’s Facebook page HERE

Cyber Shopping at hardtofind. Review & Giveaway!!!

I love a little bit of cyber shopping/browsing and have a nice little folder in my browser for all the fab sites I come across. One site that I was introduced to recently is hardtofind.

4f65bfe0ec8d83505000000e

hardtofind. is like an online shopping centre with little boutiques offering a cool and unique range of goodies. The first thing that grabbed me about the website, is how it is set out. You can shop by categories such as home and garden, travel, gifts, women, men and kids and these categories are then further broken down so you can narrow your search. There is also the option to shop by brand. I love this option – it makes it very easy if your looking for something that goes together.

If all this wasn’t cool enough, most of the products have FREE shipping and gift wrapping! hardtofind. let’s you know if the shipping is free right on the products information page so there’s not disappointing feeling when you get to the checkout.

So, would you like to know what I’ve found on my travels around the “mall”???

I love Print Art. This “Play Room Art Print” by Milk n Honey Designs really caught my eye. I love the wording and the fact it can be ordered in a stack of colours means it will work with any decor!!A cool gift idea I found was this “Scrabble Mug” by Shop Until. Just imagine what you could have spelt out on your coffee table :)

Now if by any chance you’re hunting for a gift for me, you can pop this “Oilcloth tote bag in Doilie Berry” by Dandi on you list. Very, very cute!!

If you’re after a gift for a new little bub, this little”Dribble Bib” by miss lilly is gorgeous!!!!!

Now, before you leave me and pop off for a spot of cyber shopping, I have a little giveaway for you. For your chance to win a “Lunchskins sandwich bag” in a cute little

lizard design from Pukekos in Gumboots, as shown above, simply leave me a comment telling me about an awesome product you have found on hardtofind. For an extra entry, share this blog post via Twitter and/or Facebook and let me know as a comment. This giveaway is open to Australia residents and will close on Friday 23rd of March 2012 at 8:30PM EDST. The winner will be announced on my blog on Saturday 24th of March 2012. If the winner doesn’t reply or is not contactable by Friday the 30th of March 2012, I will redraw the winner.

Driver Dan’s Story Train: Review & Giveaway!

8284886 DriverDan_V1 DVD D99331.indd
Now, I’m the first to admit most kids shows drive me completely bonkers. There are very few that I don’t mind watching and a few more that I can tolerate hearing in the background. After watching a few episodes of “Driver Dan’s Story Train” I have decided this goes in the happy to watch pile. It doesn’t hurt that there are absolutely adorable characters like Sweetie the Panda, Loopy the Stegosaurs and of course Driver Dan the loveable lion.
I really liked the fact that Driver Dan encourages interaction with his stories. Having favourite parts of the story re-enacted by children is quite fun and for us that lead to a conversation about what Jacob’s favourite part was – complete with a re-enactment!

Official Press Release
Driver Dan Puts Story Time on Track
imageimageimage
How do you get a young child interested in learning? All it takes is a friendly lion, a little imagination, and a great story book, all of which is part of the must-see DVD series Driver Dan’s story Train, chugging onto shelves this November.

Driver Dan’s Story Train, is written by well known children’s author Rebecca Elgarm. The program uses interactive characters, simple plot lines, and a focus on imagination to bring reading alive for little ones aged 3-5.

However, it’s not just a love of reading that is encouraged through the program. Driver
Dan’s Story Train consists of different personalities, from Tallulah- the cautious and at
times shy toy elephant who is always there for her friends, to Loopy, a dinosaur with a
flair for excitement and adventure. But Driver Dan teaches that every personality adds
value to friendship and fun- helping kids to be comfortable with who they are, as well as
encouraging imaginative thinking and individuality.

With a problem to be solved and a lesson to be learnt in each episode, children develop
basic problem solving skills through interaction and the art of story telling.

As the old story goes- buy a kid an expensive toy and they will play with the box. Driver
Dan’s Story Train is the perfect example of how when it comes to kids- simplicity is best.
A lion, a train, and a story book is all you need to educate, entertain and help develop a
young and imaginative mind.

So why not pick up a Driver Dan’s Story Train DVD for your little ticker this November?
With any luck- they won’t need to play with the box.

Vaseline Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion

Product Talk by Nuffnang

For just over a week now, I have had the opportunity to try Vaseline’s “Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion” and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised.  As a nurse, I am constantly washing my hands, using alcohol rub or wearing latex gloves so my hands tend to suffer from dryness. When trying this product, I concentrated on my hands and elbows so I could see the results.   I’ve tried many products in the past with varying results, but the one thing I hate is when your hands feel greasy for ages afterwards. Not with Vaseline’s “Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion”!

I loved how the conditioning lotion seem to soak into my skin quickly and still left my my hands with that just moisturised feel. I was able to do my hair after applying it without my brush flying out of my hands :) I really liked that it had a delicate, fresh scent that wasn't overpowering. An added bonus was that my nails are actually looking healthier. Pity I have to trim them for work :(

Now my elbows are pretty rough and I have tried many ways to soften them and make them appear better. I found that the Vaseline’s “Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion” has left them feeling softer but best of all has made them look less unattractive.

Vaseline’s “Dry Skin Conditioning Lotion” has vitamins A, E and B5 which help hydrate and nourish skin. It is available in a variety of sizes from pharmacies and supermarkets and the RRP of $7.29 for the 375ml pump pack is quite reasonable.

Tangled: A Review and GIVEAWAY!!

If there’s one thing I love doing, it’s snuggling up on the couch to watch a good movie. It seems Jacob shares my passion for this, so when a copy of Tangled arrived for us to review it was couch, popcorn, blanket, GO!

Tangled Value Pack 2D Packshot

Tangled is Rapunzel with attitude! For a girl who has been lived in a tower her whole life, she can certainly take care of herself. Fantastic characters like Maximus the stallion and Pascal the chameleon add to the wonderful adventure. And we can’t forget the handsome thief, Flynn who helps Rapunzel escape to the “dangerous outside world”.

Not only is Tangled a fantastic movie, it has an equally beautiful soundtrack that features songs like “I see the light”

Jacob loved the movie - declaring it “not just a girl movie!” When I asked him if he had a favourite part his answer was “all the parts with Maximus - he’s a really awesome horse!”

Tangled is available NOW and the RRP for the Tangled Blu-ray and DVD is $49.95

Disclosure: I received a complimentary review copy of the DVD courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment via Aussie Mummy Bloggers. No financial payment was offered nor accepted for this post. All opinions expressed are purely my own.

So, if you’ve read right down to here, you must want to know about the giveaway.

For your chance to win a copy of Tangled, leave me a comment telling me what your favourite Disney movie is.

For an extra entry, share my giveaway (blog it, Facebook it, tweet it, etc.)and leave a separate comment telling me how you’ve shared.

This giveaway is open to Australian residents only and will close on Friday the 15th July at 5PM EST.  Please make sure you leave a way for me to contact you if you win!

Rubbermaid "Reveal Mop" Review & Giveaway!

When you work nightshift, you find that there are not a lot of household chores that you can do quietly while the rest of the house sleeps on your nights off. And just because you can’t do them, doesn’t mean they just go away - there still there to do when you’re awake in daylight hours. A simple thing like mopping over the floors would involve filling up a bucket to drag around the house and a mop that wherever you leant it up, it would be sure to slide down the wall and clang on the floor - right. Well, not anymore!

I was lucky enough to test out the “Reveal Mop” by Rubbermaid. A very cool all-in-one system that eliminates the need for that bucket to be dragged around the house. Instead of the bucket, the “Reveal Mop” has a refillable bottle attached to it that you can add your favourite floor cleaner to. The spray trigger is conveniently placed on the handle so you can spray as much as you need.

With both tiles and floorboards in our home, I love that “Reveal Mop” is suitable for both - it’s also suitable for vinyl and laminate. Having five boys, a hubby and tiles in the bathroom (you know where I’m going with this), I can tell you that the “Reveal Mop” got a pretty good work out here. It was easy to manoeuvre around the toilet and got right up to the skirting boards thanks to the swivel head! And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does!

1M10_SidePanel_LEFT_GCR

The “Reveal Mop” uses a washable microfiber pad so there’s no extra dollars wasted on buying replacement pads that you throw out after every time you mop. And it’s not a skimpy little pad either - it’s a nice wide one. Microfiber is fantastic as it can pick up “50% more dirt per swipe than traditional sponge mops”. If you want to see the mop in action, check out Rubbermaid’s video below.

The “Reveal Mop” is available at selected Bunnings stores and has a R.R.P. of $39.95

Now for the best bit. The lovely people at Rubbermaid would like one of my readers to have a mop of their own! To enter this giveaway, leave me a comment below telling me what favourite floor cleaning solution would you use in the “Reveal Mop’s” refillable bottle.
